To say hello to a girl in Thai use สวัสดีจ้ะ (sà-wàt-dee já) when you are friendly with her. The standard สวัสดี (sà-wàt-dee) takes ค่ะ (khâ) from a woman and ครับ (khráp) from a man. It is also called สวัสดีค่ะ (sà-wàt-dee khâ) and สวัสดีครับ (sà-wàt-dee khráp).

The greeting is the same for any listener. The ending จ้ะ (já) is a warm particle for friends and younger people.
