In Mexico “how are you doing?” is ¿Cómo te va?, literally “how is it going for you?”.

In Mexico people say Felices fiestas for happy holidays.

Class is clase in Mexican Spanish. A classroom is a salón de clases, or just salón. Say Tengo clase a las ocho for having a lesson at eight.

In Mexican Spanish “address” is dirección. On official forms you will often see domicilio, the formal word for a home address.

Cherry is cereza in Mexican Spanish. The tree is a cerezo, and the plural is cerezas. You find cerezas in desserts, drinks and jam.

A cookie is a galleta in Mexico. The diminutive galletita is also common.

There is no single Mexican word for “sassy”.

To tell someone they smell bad in Mexican Spanish, say Hueles feo or Hueles mal. Apestas is blunter and means “you reek”.

Help is ayuda in Mexico, and the request is ¿Me ayudas? A common casual version is ¿Me echas la mano?, which asks someone to lend a hand.
