The Urdu word for "good" is اچھا (achha) for masculine nouns and اچھی (achhi) for feminine ones. For "very good", say بہت اچھا (bohat achha). It is also called عمدہ (umda).

The adjective agrees with the noun: اچھا لڑکا (achha larka), "a good boy", and اچھی لڑکی (achhi larki), "a good girl". Plural masculine is اچھے (achhe).
Which one should you use?
عمدہ (umda) means "excellent" and is more formal. Alone, اچھا (achha) is also used as "okay" or "I see" in conversation.
