Where in Hindi is कहाँ (kahāṁ). It is used in questions about places, such as आप कहाँ रहते हैं? (āp kahāṁ rahte haiṁ?), where do you live.
For a place of origin ask आप कहाँ से हैं? (āp kahāṁ se haiṁ?), where are you from. For direction use कहाँ जा रहे हैं? (kahāṁ jā rahe haiṁ?), where are you going.

Do not mix it up with कहाँ (kahāṁ) and यहाँ (yahāṁ), here, or वहाँ (vahāṁ), there. They share the same ending.
