The German command for calling a dog is Komm! Many trainers also use Hier!, meaning "here", for a firm recall.

Say the dog's name first, as in Rex, komm! Always praise a dog that comes with Brav! so it wants to come again.

Komm is a general call. Hier is used in obedience training for the dog to come right to you and then sit.
