quiz de pub
The English phrase "pub quiz" is translated into French as quiz de pub.
The term quiz de pub refers to a trivia competition held in a pub where teams compete to answer questions. You might also hear the phrase soirée de culture générale, which translates to "general knowledge evening".
Which one should you use?
While quiz de pub is used in casual settings, you can use the more formal or standard term jeu-questionnaire to refer to a trivia game or quiz. For a highly structured and organized quiz night, the formal expression Concours de questions-réponses is appropriate.

- In French, the word publicité can also be shortened to pub, but this refers to an 'advertisement' rather than a place to drink.
