gyeong[kjʌ̹ŋ]
경 (gyeong) is the Korean way to say kyung.
Did you know?
- The character 庚 is also used to represent one of the 'Heavenly Stems' in traditional East Asian astrology and timekeeping.
- In traditional Korean honorifics, 경 was used as a respectful way to address a person of high status during the Joseon Dynasty.
- Because 경 is a Sino-Korean reading of many different characters, the same sound can represent 'capital', 'warning', 'respect', or even 'scenery' depending on the context.
