au revoir Paris
The English phrase "goodbye paris" is translated into French as au revoir Paris.
This phrase is used to express a farewell to the city of Paris.
Which one should you use?
There is a significant difference in nuance between the standard farewell and the more dramatic adieu Paris. While au revoir Paris implies that you might return or see the city again, adieu Paris is much more final and suggests a permanent departure or a long-term separation.
Is it said differently in some regions?
In the Provence region, the informal way to say goodbye is Adeu.
