Clash of Clans
/klas of klans/from spelling rules
Clash of Clans is the name of a popular mobile strategy game in Spanish.
Which one should you use?
While Clash of Clans is the full title, gamers may also use the acronym COC.
When do people say it?
In gaming communities, players frequently use the shorthand COC when communicating about the game.
Did you know?
- Despite the English name, the Spanish gaming community often refers to the act of playing the game as clashar, turning the English noun into a first-conjugation Spanish verb.
- If a person described a 'clash' in a formal historical context, they would likely use pugna, a word denoting a high-stakes political struggle.
- The English word 'clash' can be translated as choque or enfrentamiento, but using these in a gaming context would actually make the game unrecognizable to local players.

- Me encanta jugar Clash of Clans.I love playing Clash of Clans.
- ¿Has probado Clash of Clans?Have you tried Clash of Clans?
- Descargué Clash of Clans ayer.I downloaded Clash of Clans yesterday.
