Which one should you use?
While chien marron is a standard way to express this, you may see variations based on gender and number. For a single male dog, you use Un chien brun and for multiple male dogs, you use Des chiens bruns. If the dog is female, the noun becomes chienne and the adjective brune, as in Une chienne brune or Des chiennes brunes. Note that when using the color marron, the adjective does not change for gender or number.
