About Newari

Newari, also called Nepal Bhasa, is the language of the Newar people of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. Unlike Nepali, it is a Sino-Tibetan language, and it has a written history going back more than 900 years. Today it is written mainly in Devanagari, while the older Ranjana script is still used on temples and for decoration.
