In Lebanese Arabic the usual word for the toilet is حمّام (ḥammām). People also say تواليت (twālēt), and the formal word مرحاض (marḥāḍ) is rare in speech.

A girlfriend is حبيبتي (ḥabībti), literally “my beloved”, in Lebanese Arabic. صاحبتي (ṣāḥbti) can mean either “my girlfriend” or just “my female friend”.

In Lebanese Arabic “today” is اليوم (el-yōm). It is the same word as in standard Arabic and is used in speech all the time.

The usual way to say “nice to meet you” in Lebanese Arabic is تشرفنا (tsharrafna). تشرفنا (tsharrafna) is said by both people as they meet.

In Lebanese Arabic “apple” is تفاحة (tuffāḥa) for a single apple. The word تفاح (tuffāḥ) means apples in general.

The everyday Lebanese word for husband is جوز (jōz). A wife says جوزي (jōzi) for “my husband”. The formal word is زوج (zawj).

The neutral Lebanese word for grandmother is جدّة (jedde).

In Lebanese Arabic “ugly” is بشع (bashiʿ) for a masculine noun and بشعة (bashiʿa) for a feminine one. The formal word is قبيح (ʔabīḥ).

To call a woman pretty in Lebanese Arabic you say حلوة (helwe), and for a man you say حلو (helo).

To welcome someone in Lebanese Arabic you can say أهلا وسهلا (ahlan wa sahlan).
