There is no single language called Indian, so this page gives Hindi. Most people simply say बाथरूम (bathroom).

A father’s mother is दादी (dādī) and a mother’s mother is नानी (nānī). Hindi does not use one word for both.

In Hindi, हे भगवान (he bhagvān) is the natural way to say OMG.

In Hindi the ruby gemstone is माणिक (māṇik). Many people also say रूबी (rūbī), the English word.

“Dumb” meaning stupid is बेवकूफ़ (bevakūf) in Hindi, and मूर्ख (mūrkh) is the stronger formal word.

“I love you” is मुझे तुमसे प्यार है (Mujhe tumse pyaar hai), which any speaker can use.

In India most people searching this mean Hindi, where the common word is the loan word कंडोम (kanḍom). The older word निरोध (nirodh) is also understood.

A cow is गाय (gaay) in Hindi. In religious and formal speech you also hear गौ (gau), as in गौ माता (gau maata).

The Hindi word for mom is माँ (māṃ). Many families also say मम्मी (mammī), especially in cities, and families with Urdu influence often say अम्मी (ammī).

To tell someone to lie down, say लेट जाओ (Let jao). Use लेट जाइए (Let jaiye) with elders. To lay an object down, say रख दो (rakh do).
