Did you know?
- The name 擎天柱 (qíngtiānzhù) evokes the myth of Pangu, the giant who separated the sky from the earth and acted as a cosmic pillar.
- While 擎天柱 (qíngtiānzhù) is the official name, Chinese fans often use the affectionate nickname 擎哥 (qíng gē), which translates to 'Big Brother Qing'.
- The name avoids the typical approach of transliterating English sounds into Chinese characters. Instead of searching for characters that sound like 'Optimus', translators chose characters that capture the 'spirit' of a supreme leader.
