Did you know?
- In Spanish, las alturas is often used in religious or poetic contexts to refer to 'the heavens' or the dwelling of God, giving the phrase a cheeky contrast with its actual meaning.
- If you are in a Spanish-speaking country and use the term club de las alturas, people might think you are referring to a group of high-altitude pilots or mountaineers rather than the sexual concept.
- The word club in the phrase is a direct loanword from English. While Spanish has many native words for an association or group, it adopted the English term in this specific context.
