te quiero más, mi amor
The English phrase "I love you more, baby" can be translated into Spanish as te quiero más, mi amor.
This phrase is an affectionate expression used to tell a romantic partner that the speaker loves them even more than they are loved. You can choose different terms of endearment to complete the phrase. For example, you can use amor (love), mi vida (my love) or even bebé if you want to use the literal word for "baby" as a term of endearment.
Which one should you use?
There is a distinction between the verbs used for love. While te quiero más is common and affectionate, you can also use te amo más to use a stronger, more intense verb for romantic love.
Is it said differently in some regions?
In Latin America, it is more common to use the informal Te quiero más, cariño in informal contexts.
Did you know?
- Though used as a term of endearment today, bebé was rarely used romantically in Spanish until the global rise of Reggaeton and Latin Trap music.
- While te quiero más is an affectionate response, some Spanish speakers might reply with yo más (me more) to playfully keep the competition of who loves the other more going.
- The verb querer in the phrase te quiero más does not only mean 'to love', but also carries the literal meaning of 'to want' or 'to desire'.
