Did you know?
- The word pegamento comes from the verb pegar, which also means 'to hit' or 'to strike' in many Spanish-speaking contexts.
- Because barra can also mean a 'counter' or 'bar' (as in a tavern), context is crucial to ensure you are talking about a stick and not a piece of furniture.
- While the phrase refers to the tool, the verb pegar is also used to describe things that are 'stuck' or 'clingy' in a social context.
