Hindi uses the English word, written as चॉकलेट (chaaklet). There is no separate traditional Hindi word for chocolate.

In Hindi, the plain word is पेशाब (peshāb), used as पेशाब करना (peshāb karnā), to pee. Children and parents say सू सू (sū sū).

The Hindi word for tortoise is कछुआ (kachhuā). It is also used for a turtle, since Hindi uses one common word for both.

A cloud is बादल (baadal) in Hindi. In poems and songs you may also hear मेघ (megh), which comes from Sanskrit.

In Hindi rain is बारिश (bārish). बरसात (barsāt) is also common and often means the rainy season.

Enough in Hindi is काफ़ी (kāfī). To say “that is enough, stop” use बस (bas), and the formal word for “sufficient” is पर्याप्त (paryāpt).

A library is a पुस्तकालय (pustakaalay). In everyday talk many people simply say लाइब्रेरी (library), borrowed from English.

In Hindi saffron is केसर (kesar). The colour saffron or deep orange is केसरिया (kesariyā).

In Hindi rabbit is खरगोश (khargosh). The word also covers hares in daily speech.

Vegetable in Hindi is सब्ज़ी (sabzī), and the plural is सब्ज़ियाँ (sabziyāṁ). The same word also means a cooked vegetable dish.
